Nebraska man was imagination based on a single pig's tooth! |

Nebraska man was not evolution’s missing link!It sounds bizarre, but it's true. Geologist Harold Cook found a single tooth in Snake Creek quarry in western Nebraska in 1921. From this one tooth he and some other evolutionist “experts” believed they had found clear evidence of humankind's evolutionary ape-like ancestors in America. (The tooth pictured at left is of the exact type that Cook found.) The Illustrated London News of June 24, 1922 published articles, drawings and “a pedigree of the human family” to show that this tooth proved that humans had evolved from ape-like creatures. But it was all a tragic mistake. When more excavations were done, and more of the same type of teeth were unearthed, it was realized that the tooth was from a peccary — a type of pig! It had nothing to do with humans or evolution. There is no indisputable evidence that humans have evolved from ape-like creatures. “Nebraska man” is simply one reason not to accept evolutionary interpretations as evolutionary facts. “My pigs know more than I do!”Farmer Derek Allen, of Dorset, England, said the tin roof on his pigsty was picking up radio signals from the BBC. He said the news bulletins and broadcasts in 36 languages seemed to have a calming effect on his pigs. He added, “I'm sure my pigs know more about what's going on than I do.” > Other Oddspots Related topics: |
