PZ Myers wrecks our polls pages

By Brad Marshall : February 24, 2010

A funny thing happened to our website this week.

Evolutionist PZ Myers seems to have stumbled on to our polls page — on which we ask a few general questions about our visitors and allow them to vote on which answer applies most to them or their beliefs.

The polls have been on our website for a while, and the results haven't always agreed with our own beliefs. But we let the polls reflect what people voted anyway.

Then biology professor Myers wrote on his blog that our polls were “thrown up like chaff to distract us so we won't slam any one of them too hard.” Myers, who we believe is an adult but who seems to have a lot of children reading his blog, encouraged his followers (who number a squillion times what our readers number) to “play”, and “skew” our polls.

Oh, that's mature! Encourage your readers to skew someone else's polls because you apparently don't like the questions the polls ask. That's democracy with a cork in it.

Why would he want to sabotage someone else's poll? We feel it must be because he didn't like the questions. After all, they are pretty difficult for evolutionists. One question asks, “How often do you go to church?”, and another asks, “How old are you?” Questions about churches and age terrify evolutionists.

The attitude of rabid evolutionists seems to be, Don't let creationists ask questions in polls or it may damage the whole structure of evolution. OK everyone, go and sabotage those nasty old polls.

So the faithful, like zombies, head over to our polls in their thousands and vote for all the evolutionary answers they can find. Isn't that hilarious! And isn't that great leadership from Myers! Imagine him as a Boy Scouts leader in charge of your kids.

We deleted the links to our main polls page when we found out what was going on, so we could tally the number of hits from the Myers' mob. Unknown to them, they were voting on pages that had become dead to all links except the one from Myers' page and a few smaller atheist websites that had copied his comments. You can see the results of their time-wasting efforts if you vote on any of our polls, which we will leave on our website with this article.

What damage has it done to our site? Well, it has made the polls useless, just as the band of evolutionary zombies wanted, but it has given our website tens of thousands of hits that we wouldn't have had otherwise, so the hits on our site are going to be astronomically good this month. This will look good to potential advertisers.

As we watched the hit counter continue to rise, we found ourselves mumbling, “Here come more Myers zombies …”, “Tell your friends to come back and vote too.”

We even considered running a lot more polls to see if the evos could help us reach a million hits next week.

To finish, let's borrow a line from Richard Dawkins today after he announced changes to the forums on his website. After his announcement, Dawkins received hysterical abuse from the atheist evos who were using his forum, many of whom also follow PZ Myers' blog. Dawkins the atheist evolutionist said: “Surely there has to be something wrong with people who can resort to such over-the-top language, over-reacting so spectacularly to something so trivial.”

We agree with you Richard. But that's what lefty, liberal, atheist evos do. And your side is producing them!
