Dogs and finch-beaks don't prove evolution!
Quick-read this article: When you ask evolutionists for their favorite evidence for evolution, you will often get one of these replies:
These examples in fact show only “variation within kind”. That is, there may be many types of dogs and wolves, but this does not explain what the first wolf, for instance, evolved from. There may be many variations in beak shapes and sizes in finches, but this does not show that birds such as finches evolved from non-birds, as the evolutionary theory claims. What do creationists oppose?Even the most dedicated creationist and anti-evolutionist would probably accept that birds' beaks may change size, that parts of animals may change color, that eyes and ears may change shape, and so on. Why? Because there is ample evidence that these can happen within the genetic system each creature possesses. What we don't accept is that such small, observed changes are evidence of many larger, unobserved changes. We don't accept that these creatures can turn into, or have evolved from, completely different types of creatures. Huge changes require an increase in genetic information, but all we observe is sorting and loss of information, although such changes should happen often if evolution is true. On the other hand, we do observe large changes that involve no new information, for example when a control gene is switched on or off. Big changes such as fish turning into amphibians, amphibians to reptiles, and reptiles to birds have not been observed. There is simply no mechanism to make the big changes happen and be sustained, and they are certainly not a natural feature of genetic alteration. Evidence for macroevolution?(Evolutionists sometimes write to tell us about an article by Douglas Theobald on the evolutionist website Talk Origins that gives “29+ Evidences for Macroevolution”. Yes, we know about that, and we know about the excellent response to that article from Ashby Camp on the creationist True Origin website that is titled “A Critique of Douglas Theobald’s 29 Evidences for Macroevolution”. Evolutionist Theobald apparently changed his article after Ashby camp's critique appeared, and then criticized Camp's article. When Ashby Camp responded to Theobald's criticism, Theobald changed that too!) Intelligence requiredNote again the example of the dogs that humans have bred. It took human intelligence and intervention to breed the wide variety of dogs in the world, but this in no way shows that non-intelligence and non-intervention can make the huge changes required to prove macroevolution. After all, humans can make buildings, shoes, and children's toys in hundreds of variations, but this does not prove that those things could occur in nature without human input. In each case, humans have used intelligence to modify and adapt available material for their purpose. Dogs being bred from dogs by humans, and finch beaks of different shapes and sizes, in no way indicate that dogs, finches, or any other creatures have evolved from animals essentially different from what they are today.
Woman crashes car while teaching dog to driveA woman in Hohhot, the capital of north China's Inner Mongolia region, crashed her car while giving her dog a driving lesson, the official Xinhua News Agency reported on August 28, 2006. No injuries were reported, although both vehicles were slightly damaged. The woman, known only by her surname, Li, said her dog “was fond of crouching on the steering wheel and often watched her drive,” according to Xinhua. “She thought she would let the dog 'have a try' while she operated the accelerator and brake,” the report said. “They did not make it far before crashing into an oncoming car.” Xinhua did not say what kind of dog or vehicles were involved, but Li paid for repairs. > Other Oddspots Related topics: |
